This is what you call Hollywood hula. I like the humble flowers and straw colored grass skirts. The hot-shot background band, while great for a night at the bar, doesn't quite fit the tone of hula.

cellophane skirts...ehhhh not so cool. this is not true hula if anyone wanted to know. This is some touristy watered down stuff. hapa Haole hula I heard it called? Its not the real thing. The real thing is much more complicated and has more educational value and meaning. This was still pretty good tho. Just not the real thing :)

Personally, i don't have a problem with hapa haole hula. It's entertaining. As long as someone doesn't say, "I'm preserving the culture." and then doing hapa haole hula, I'm fine. Hapa haole hula is meant for entertainment, not education.

this is hapa haole hula.sometimes perform for tourist at luau's.now days you will not fine hawaiian looking hula girls because every race has learn this culture dancing.I am half hawaiian and I teach hula.Half of my students are filipino's and they love the hula..
