The bottom is somewhat hewa though. Maybe appropriate for Tahiti, but Hawai`i is more discrete with the lower half of the body. Obviously from pictures of Hawai`i, everyone knows she could have had less on the top if she wanted. Regardless of the bottom half, it is still a lovely dance.

Hey im just sticking up for polynesia. and lets not forget that it was the "whiteman" that introduced modesty to polynesia in "teh old days". there is nothing wrong showing 'some' skin but not like what she is wearing. so dont say im more or less ruining our culture when im just concerned about what peoples expectations and perceptions of polynesians are when they look at her and be like "Oh So this is what all polynesian women look like"?? Hula makes you fit. In Hawaii you do not have to have a Barbie body to dance hula properly, but this wahine does have a toned ono body. The song demands a seductive dancer. My wife was to have danced this hula for me at our wedding, well, she practiced it for hours and then chickened out at the reception. It was for me, she said and not for all the guests. This still brings a lot of emotion to my heart. Eh? Whas west of Lahaina? Da Ocean!! oh, btw 2geda means together..... aloha!!

okay. i hate how everyone is saying "She's not Hawaiian, or she looks Japanese/Chinese" Hawai'i is a big melting pot of many different cultures, if you've lived there long enough to notice hella people are mixed with Hawaiian and other cultures. Seriously people need to be more open minded, at least there's people out there appreciating Hawaiian culture and representing the culture.
